Toby Andrews is cooking up more than a little trouble for Evan Blankenship. Because of pranks, indiscretions, and plain bad timing, his ability to work in New York's temples of haute cuisine is a thing of the past. When Toby's sister tells him he should look up an acquaintance whose restaurant - Le Potiron - is failing, he doesn't have much choice.
Pretty soon he's in bed, literally, with a cook who hates people, trying to save a restaurant that only the neighborhood mothers seem to love, and on the verge of another - possibly painful - lesson or two about what it means to be successful.
Evan hates everyone but Toby. Toby likes to stir things up. See what's on the menu at Le Potiron in Stirring Up Trouble.

The story itself was a very enjoyable read and I will likely read more books from this author. The editor for the Kindle version should be fired though. Chapter 5 is included twice in a row. Names are messed up in a few places, the most notable instance I remember is replacing the name Steff with Deb, when Deb is supposed to be in Boston, but there were more instances of the same. Additionally the author's note included at the end of the book was for an entirely different book, Rhapsody for Piano and Ghost.Product details

Stirring Up Trouble (Audible Audio Edition) Z A Maxfield Biff Summers Audible Studios Books Reviews
I really enjoyed the humour and excellent writing. The story was great
I have read many of Z.A Maxfield's books and this one was not a great representation of what I like best about her works - if you are new to this author suggest you try some of her other books - St. Nachos series is wonderful or Drawn Together,
More light, escapist reading to while away an afternoon. The characters are believable, the situations work, and it's easy for the reader to get sucked in. Kudos to an author who has figured out a good mix of humor, sex, and drama to successfully tap into the gay sensibility for her books.
I goofed and read Brendan's book first, but it doesn't matter. Evan's is equally satisfying. Sadly, however, it caused me to constantly question my bologna-based cuisine. Oh well, another winner by Maxfield. Maybe she'll take me out to dinner one day. )
This was an easy read and a nice, little romance. I finished it in one sitting as the plot started off quickly and the characters drew me in and made me care about them. The main character is definitely one who seems to get into trouble quite often, but he never means it maliciously...and the meeting of a new man who can ground him sends off sparks which change his life an attitude.
Oh this was a fun tale of passion and love. It was so a story that shows a human sometimes has to go through. A lot of hurtles until they get it right. But love and passion prevails. Joe
Toby Andrews is a nice guy and a great cook. Unfortunately, when he arrives at Evan Blankenship's failing Le Potiron restaurant, he's out of options. A series of mishaps at his last job has pretty much ended his career as a chef in fine dining in New York. The darling of haute cuisine, Tad Christopher is out to make sure Toby "never works in this town again!"
Meanwhile, Evan's restaurant is failing and he knows it. He's sleeping in the basement because of the disaster created by his former business partner Dominic Giguere. When Toby offers Evan a way out of his current problems and a future for his restaurant, the heat in the kitchen goes up a notch.
Maxfield's Stirring Up Trouble is a fun read! The characters are engaging and the sexual tension between Evan and Toby is hot to say the least. As Toby comes up with one crazy idea after another to make Le Potiron a success, Evan does his best to stay out of the line of fire behind his kitchen wall. What's Evan going to do when the wall comes down? Watching these two work out their personal and professional relationships kept me reading late into the night. Stirring Up Trouble is worth 4 stars and I've already started reading the sequel, All Stirred Up!
